My journey
See the fragments from my djing journey in form of random photos captured over the years at the different events around the country.
Long story short...
My journey with djing started around 2003 when besides collecting electronic music cd's I started experimenting with mixing using some djing software I found on the internet.
However, it wasn't until late 2004 when I decided to take my love for music to the next level and bought my first professional dj setup: a pair of CDJ800 decks powered by DJM500 mixer.
I really loved that setup. I practiced several hours every day, learning more and more advanced djing techniques.
”It was around that time I met DJ Grandaddy aka 3.14 and I was really impressed by his ability to maintain energetic flow throughout his sets. Shortly after we became good friends and he made a big impact on my djing style and music. I learned from him a lot about art of harmonic mixing and he was the first one to introduce me to the psychedelic trance - a music genre that was becoming more and more popular around the world.
Thanks to DJ Granddady I also made several guest appearances on his popular show on Digitally Imported, playing sets for international audience through the internet.
In the years 2006 - 2007 I started picking up more and more gigs in little clubs around Milwaukee but it seemed like most people were still stuck in the world of ancient house music, not ready for a new wave of electronic sounds.
In the summer of 2007 I connected with one of the biggest psytrance crews in the United States called Chilluminati and shortly after I attended and played at my very first open air psychedelic event - Earthdance. It was a truly enlightening experience, not only musically but also on a very personal and social level. It was then when I connected with the right people who I continue being good friends with till this very day.
I also met there several party promoters including DJ Paradigm from San Francisco Bay area who impressed with my performances gave me the final push into psychedelic trance scene. He also greatly influenced my mixing style by encouraging me to making longer and more creative transitions between tracks. Shortly after that I started playing gigs in Chicago and Minneapolis several times a year and also traveled to states of California, Colorado and North Carolina, where I shared decks with amazing artists from all over the world.
At the moment I am an active member of Chilluminati, MetaTrance and Plush Industries - the internationally recognized crews, which have been successfully making a huge impact on the evolution of electronic music in the United States.
